As their mission states, USAID’s program, Feed the Future, was born on the belief that global hunger is solvable. The presidential initiative was put into action in nine different parts of the world, trying to break the cycle of poverty and hunger. The numbers say a lot about the good the program is doing. These photos look to find stories in those numbers. From a single mother in Guatemala working on a farm every day to put her four daughters through school, to communities in Zambia coming together to get fair prices for their hard labor, the universal theme was that people are willing to do what it takes to better their family’s lives.
