Tristan Spinski (b. 1978) was raised by a family of potters and sculptors, and split his childhood between the suburbs of Delaware and rural southern Ohio. He attended the University of Delaware where he studied English, and he earned his master’s in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley. After years of working in newspapers, Tristan co-founded GRAIN in 2012, alongside colleagues Lexey Swall and Greg Kahn. Much of Tristan’s work focuses on land use, conservation and legacy.
